How long does Stripe Connect onboarding take?
Most sole-proprietor or single-owner organizations complete onboarding in 5 to 10 minutes. Onboarding happens inside the Sembr dashboard via embedded components; no redirect to a Stripe-branded form. Stripe handles KYC, identity verification, and bank account validation.
Who handles disputes and chargebacks?
You do, in your Stripe dashboard. Sembr surfaces dispute notifications in the audit log so staff are aware, but dispute response is on the Stripe side. Sembr never takes funds from your account to cover a dispute.
Can we accept payment methods other than card?
Yes. ACH (US), EFT (Canada), PADs (Canada), bank transfers, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Stripe-supported wallets are all available depending on your country. Each method has its own fee schedule per Stripe's published rates.
What about international members paying in their own currency?
Stripe handles currency conversion at the cardholder's bank rate. The member sees their local currency at checkout; you receive USD (or your platform's payout currency) at Stripe's published FX rate. Sembr does not add any FX margin.
Can we issue refunds and partial refunds?
Yes, from the Stripe dashboard. The customer sees the refund on their card within 5 to 10 business days. Refund events post back to Sembr's audit log automatically.
