Integration / HubSpot

HubSpot for outreach. Sembr for membership.

Sembr members appear as HubSpot contacts with renewal status, dues tier, and event history as fields. Lifecycle stages update automatically as members join, renew, or lapse.

How it works

Membership data where your marketing team lives.

Contact sync

On member create, update, or status change, Sembr pushes the record to HubSpot. Name, email, tier, join date, last renewal, and dues paid YTD are standard mapped fields.

Lifecycle stage mapping

Active members map to "Customer." Lapsed members flip to "Evangelist" (or a custom stage you define). New joins trigger "Lead" to "Customer" progression. HubSpot workflows fire on every transition.

Workflow triggers

Any Sembr-driven contact property change can trigger a HubSpot workflow. Use it for lapse re-engagement sequences, renewal reminders, and new-member welcome series without manual list management.

Status: post-launch.

HubSpot integration is similar in scope to Salesforce -- requires per-tenant configuration and field mapping validation. Targeted Q4 2027 or later, once enough HubSpot-using tenants are on Sembr to validate the design. One-way push only (Sembr to HubSpot). HubSpot edits do not flow back to Sembr; Sembr is the source of truth for membership records.

# Sembr -> HubSpot contact sync
> member.created -> lifecycle: Lead -> Customer
> member.renewed -> property: last_renewal updated
> member.lapsed -> lifecycle: Customer -> Evangelist
> workflow trigger: re-engagement sequence fires
> member.rejoined -> lifecycle: Evangelist -> Customer
FAQ

Common questions.

Does this use HubSpot contact limits?
Yes. Each Sembr member synced occupies one HubSpot contact slot. For organizations on HubSpot free (1,000 contacts), the integration fits small-to-mid orgs. Larger orgs typically need HubSpot Starter or Professional. Sembr does not provision HubSpot seats.
Can we trigger HubSpot workflows from Sembr events?
Yes, via HubSpot contact property change triggers. When Sembr updates a contact (e.g., status from Active to Lapsed), HubSpot fires the matching workflow. Useful for re-engagement sequences, renewal reminders, and sponsor outreach automation.
Does this work with HubSpot CMS as well as CRM?
Sembr syncs the HubSpot CRM contact object only. If you host your public website on HubSpot CMS, Sembr widgets embed the same way they do on WordPress -- plain script tags, no CMS dependency.
What about organizations using HubSpot for sponsor relationship management?
The integration covers member contacts only. Sponsor relationships (Companies, Deals) are a separate HubSpot object type and are not in scope for the initial release. Sponsor-to-deal sync is a post-launch feature request.
